The Vectrex was a home console system that was unique in the field due to the use of a built-in vector monitor to display the games. Introduced in June of 1982 by General Consumer Electronics (GCE) at the Summer Consumer Electronics Show (CES), it was available for retail purchase at $199 in October of that same year. In March of 1983, Milton Bradley purchased GCE and began distributing the Vectrex to a more expansive distribution network, to some success. However, changes in the market caused...

What "No-Intro" does is fill some .dat files, to be used with ROM-Managers, with information about the known ROMS released. Often there are more versions of the same ROM dump, but most of them are garbage, some examples may include: bad dumps, hacks, fakes, overdumps, underdumps, and so on. "No-Intro" lists only the best available ROM; it must be a full dump with no faults and no changes to the file, basically just the ROMS that are the closest as possible to the original...

To browse the contents of this collection of Amiga software, click here . Welcome to the Final release of Demobase Amiga!. This is the third release of the biggest Amiga demo database. This item contains about every DOS game archive and extras (such as manuals) for them, that were available for download on HOTU and were marked as DOS games. Downloading these files finished some time around March. Apparently, there have been no additions to HOTU since then. HOTU changes the availability of many games somewhat frequently (like only having the BUY option, not download), so it's very hard to have a perfect dump of HOTU DOS games (and HOTU might have some games mistakenly marked...

Courtesy of Chris Fenton, a research forensic recording of an 80 megabyte CDC-9877 disk pack. From Fenton: "It is a 'magnetic image' of an 80 megabyte CDC-9877 disk pack that might potentially contain some Cray-1 system software (it might also be blank), of which no known copies currently still exist. I managed to acquire a disk drive from the 1970's that could accept one of these disks, but none of the control electronics worked anymore. I built a robot that manually steps the read heads...

This disk contains a backup of the last remaining copy of the Cray Operating System, the original operating system for the Cray-1 and Cray X-MP supercomputer line. The disk likely contains a binary image of COS 1.17 (the last revision of of the OS), as well as other unknown software, and initially belonged to a single-processor Cray X-MP machine. The disk was written in 1989. The machine's I/O Subsystem (IOS) would have likely booted from this disk, and then loaded the OS into main CPU memory....

Hi Guys, Below you will find a listing of games/related apps from my personal archive which I have decided to distribute as a few people have shown interest in my collection and also to help aid against dataloss as I have already lost one entire section (All games starting with W#) after an very unexciting turn of events involving multiple modes of media failure back in the early days. Starting from the XT going all the way up to the pentium 166Mhz, here is my childhood and the later part of my...

In 2011, Fermix took the collection of "Double R / Intense - Bronx", a set of over 950 Amiga floppies, and transferred them to an archive. The floppies, hand-collected over years, include music, demos, and programs. Included were a number of screenshots which are assembled into a browsable "book" to the left. This collection is assembled into a 400mb+ .zip file, which can be browsed online here .

TI Explorer Lisp Machine source code, circa 1991. The Texas Instruments Explorer is a family of Lisp Machine computers. These computers were sold by Texas Instruments in the 1980s. The Explorer is based on a design from Lisp Machines Incorporated, which is based on the MIT Lisp Machine. The Explorer was used for development and deployment of artificial-intelligence software. Notable is also the early use of the NuBus as the system bus for the Explorer computer family.
The ASIMOV Apple II FTP Archive is the largest public repository of Apple II disk images and support materials related to the Apple family of home computers. From the description by Jimmy Maher: Especially since Dennis Jerz’s discovery of the original Adventure source code, there’s been some interest expressed around the IF community and even in academic circles in experiencing PDP-10 software in its original form. The good news is that, thanks to projects like SIMH and archives like bitsavers.org, the tools are out there to recreate history on an everyday PC. The bad news, though, is that getting everything working can be tricky for anyone who...

This directory contains all the spam that I have received since early 1998. I have employed various "bait" addresses, such as to trick email address harvesters into putting them on spam lists. The archives have been (re)compressed with p7zip which produces files about half the size of tar+bzip2, and smaller even than I was able to achieve with RAR on Linux. This archive is provided for the purposes of researching behavior of spammers and development of new spam management techniques....
